In addition to the Core Academic Staff, kyōdynamics Institute has a number of associated experts and specialists in all areas of earthquake-resistant engineering, architecture and structural dynamics from across the globe, thus, covering a diverse range of subject areas.
Dr. Amador Terán-Gilmore
He has been a full-time professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana since 1989 and visiting professor for national and international postgraduate courses. He was member of board of directors of both, the Mexican Society of Earthquake Engineering (1999-2002, 2004-2005) and the Mexican Society of Structural Engineering (2003-2004, 2009-2010). At the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, he was head of the Structures Section (1997-1999) and the Technological Development and Sustainability in Civil Engineering Section (2010-2015). He has authored more than 240 publications pertaining to the structural engineering field and has given over 280 keynote lectures and courses in Mexico and other countries. He has been part of several technical committees, including the one that prepared the standards for earthquake-resistant design in Mexico City. He has been consultant for professional projects related with seismic rehabilitation, control systems, and high-rise buildings in Mexico City. His main research is on seismic evaluation and rehabilitation, passive seismic response control systems, non-linear dynamic analysis of structural systems, and performance-based methodologies.
